Kowloon Generic Romance Vol 7 @YEN Press / Jun Mayuzuki |
If you take a glance at my twitter account you’ll see I am quite fascinated by this series and with good reason. It is a truly amazing series. This particular volume gives us more details on the city of Kowloon and it’s existence or disappearance. We get more information about my favorite character Kujirai. Of course there are still many pieces of information that are being kept from us about her and the city which I think will slowly be revealed in the upcoming Vol 8.
The story continues to be mysterious while giving us, the readers, an appetizer of interesting details to keep us invested in the story. This is what amazes me about Jun Mayuzuki sensei’s writing style. She shares just enough information to help you build a partial picture but not too much so as to ruin your journey to the end. I feel she took a similar approach with After the rain, another one of her amazing works.
The artwork continues to be amazing and complements the visual storytelling aspect of the story. Jun sensei continues to use visual queues to entertain the readers without adding any text. Some panels in this volume were truly stunning. My jaw dropped in amazement at the level of detail she has presented in many panels.
There is a lot more of the mystery that needs to be unraveled and I think we are in for quite a surprise based on the details shared in this volume. I am very much looking forward to reading Vol 8 and to see where this story goes. I am sure we are all in for a surprise.
